The Fall of the Hyuns (thefallofthehyuns.net) is a collection of poems by Gye Mihyun, a poet based in South Korea. Commissioned by Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture, I was in charge of art direction and development of the bilingual website in collaboration with the poet and the translator, Gongmin.
Navigating Ant Colony as a Web Experience
In the style of the Choose Your Own Adventure game sentiment of the web publication, the design assets were created from ink and charcoal textures that highlight the experience of an ant navigating the underground ant colony. Since Gye Mihyun’s poetry is very visual and diagram-focused and encompasses both Korean and English, I wanted the readers to be able to explore the visual change that occurs from the translation.
